Lucy Hanwell’s 1930’s Wedding

I was so excited when Lucy first contacted me about here hair and makeup ideas for her vintage style wedding.  After looking at pictures of Lucy’s dress and the style of her wedding, we both agreed a gorgeous 1920’s hair and makeup look was the the look for her.

It was a beautiful sunny day at Lucy’s wedding venue Rowley Manor.  A beautiful Georgian grade II listed building, situated in the gorgeous East Yorkshire countryside.  We had such fun creating flowing fingerwaves through Lucy’s hair and applying a flawless understated makeup to compement the over all look.

Our Favourite Foundations

Catherine Elizabeth’s favorite foundation at the moment for great coverage and gives the glowiest of finishes to the skin is:
CHANEL ~ VITALUMIERE

We find the best way to apply this gorgeous liquid foundation is with a brush and not a natural sponge which we usually use, as it gives the best finish.

Creating Gorgeous Natural Waves

Creating gorgeous waves, in a few easy steps.  Start with a medium curling iron or Babyliss pro wand. Divide your hair into sections, starting with the back section. Spray each section with a setting spray, I love Paul Mitchel “fast drying sculpt spray”. Hold your curling iron vertically and wrap inch or half inch sections of hair around the barrel. Hold for a few seconds and release. Shake through your hair with your fingers & follow with a light finishing hair spray to help hold waves. If you started with some natural wave, use a curling iron to smooth out frizzy sections or to enhance individual pieces of hair that need a bit more wave.
